Professor Rigel Oliveri
Professor Oliveri's scholarship focuses on housing discrimination, affordable housing, zoning, and sexual harassment. In particular, she is an expert on the subject of the sexual harassment of low-income women by their housing providers. This is an intersectional problem, implicating socioeconomic status, race, immigration status, and familial status, among other characteristics. She has a number of articles on the subject, including a first-of-its-kind study involving interviews with low-income women who have experienced sexual harassment in housing, and two forthcoming pieces: one reviews every housing sexual harassment complaint filed by the Department of Justice; the second analyzes potential legislative reforms for addressing the problem. Professor Oliveri also has a forthcoming casebook on fair housing law called The Right to Fair Housing.
