-

Rachel Hardeman, PhD, MPH, Professor and Blue Cross Endowed Professor of Health and Racial Equity, Division of Health Policy & Management

Racism, not race, is a fundamental cause of racial health inequities. Health professionals have unique opportunities to address the harms of structural racism, on racial health disparities by "learning about, understanding, and accepting the U.S.'s racist roots.”

Students, faculty, and staff will learn to: (1) Identify and describe how structural racism affects health outcomes. (2) Apply an antiracism framework to the field of health. (3) Evaluate and incorporate values of equity and inclusion in professional practices.
