Our Minds Matter (OMM) school intervention involves programming that addresses these gaps. OMM stands apart given its focus on student-driven club activities; explicit activities to confront mental health stigma and encourage support-seeking; and use of schoolwide events that extend mental health initiatives and resources to non-club-member peers.
Dr. Booker has been working with OMM programs in the DC metro area and has begun to test evidence that club involvement is related to positive factors like students' social adjustment, well-being, and support-seeking behaviors for promoting mental health.
