Film Screening and Panel: "Lowndes County and the Road to Black Power"

Through first person accounts and searing archival footage, this documentary tells the story of the local movement and young Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) organizers who fought not just for voting rights, but for Black Power in Lowndes County, Alabama.
The screening will be followed by a community conversation led by The Michael A. Middleton Center for Race, Citizenship, and Justice, exploring topics around voting rights, voter suppression, and Black power.
